EX vinyl and jacket, great copy. Ask for pics, record has been cleaned and resleeved in a rice paper inner. ships in a whiplash mailer from a brick and mortar record store.

Record 1 of this 2 Lp Set is a Reissue of the US Compilation [r7781890 and does feature early recordings 1939-1944. Release date and details for Commodore Records Compilation is unknown. 
For Record 1, credits are isted for sets a-d, without specifying anywhere which track relates to which letter. "a" was recorded April 20, 1939 in New York and Billie Holiday is accompanied by Newton, Smith, Hollon, Payne, White, McLin, Williams and Dougherty. b-d are recorded 1944 in New York ("b" on March 25th, "c" on April 1st, "d" on April 8th). Holiday is accompanied by Cheatham, Dickenson, Davies, Heywood, Walters, Simmons and Catlett on "b", the same without Walters in "c" and the Eddie HEywood Trio (Heywood, Simmons, Catlett) on "d".  
  
Record 2 of this 2 Lp Set is a Release of later recordings, approximately taken 1958 Live in Storyville Club, Boston and was original released by Storyville Records [r7668868. It`s rather unknown when and where this recordings were released first. Billie Holiday is accompanied by the Mal Waldron Trio (without giving the name of the bassist and drummer). 

The outer gatefold Cover illustration by Patrick von Spreckelsen was mainly influenced by the Cover illustration of a US Compilation - [r3637442 - Commodore Records FL 30,008. Inside the gatefold are liner notes in german language by Hauke Voigt.

The timings on Labels do not match with the timings on Cover.
