For years, screenwriting team Richard Babson (Burt Reynolds) and Paula McCullen (Goldie Hawn) have built a successful Hollywood career while managing to live harmoniously together. After finishing their latest script, Babson uses the euphoria to convince McCullen to take the leap into marriage.
